VTI is a legal body of a non profit organization under construction . The mission of VTI is to bring together competences in the field of tribology, enhance the use of technology, and the transfer of research results to industry. In all its activities, the VTI supports European industry, particularly SME's, in developing a sustainable economic growth. The research brokering activities of the Virtual Tribology Institute are already being dealth with by ENIWEP (European Network for Industrial WEar Prevention), a Eureka Umbrella action.
